During REHAB 2022, Karlsruhe Trade Fair Centre will collaborate with the team from Lamprecht NEURO-Fobis and with specialists in advanced training for neurological and geriatric rehabilitation to offer for the first time an interdisciplinary congress programme for self-employed physiotherapists, sports and occupational therapists, therapists employed in clinics and rehabilitation facilities, speech therapists, and rehabilitation and orthopaedic technicians. Neurorehabilitation is the focus of this advanced training programme, which will take place simultaneously with REHAB at Karlsruhe Trade Fair Centre from 23 to 25 June 2022. The congress focuses in particular on rehabilitation after a diagnosis of stroke, multiple sclerosis or Parkinson’s disease as well as on therapeutic options for apraxia, neuromuscular diseases and geriatrics. “With our new interdisciplinary therapists’ congress CON.THERA, we are pleased to initiate an extremely versatile and professionally rigorous advanced training programme with outstanding speakers. CON.THERA excellently complements our recognized and thematically wide-ranging trade fair for rehabilitation, therapy, care and inclusion, thus offering another unique added value for our trade visitors”, explains Karlsruhe Trade Fair Centre’s Managing Director Britta Wirtz.

Among the numerous specialists who have confirmed their intention to speak at the congress are recognized experts such as Professor Dr Albert Ludolph, Medical Director of the Clinic for Neurology at the University and Rehabilitation Clinics in Ulm, Professor Dr Thomas Platz, Medical Director of Research at the Institute for Neurorehabilitation and Evidence-Based Medicine (affiliated institute of the University of Greifswald) at the BDH Clinic in Greifswald, and PD Dr Rüdiger Rupp, Head of the Experimental Neurorehabilitation Section at the University Hospital in Heidelberg. Professor Dr Andrés Ceballos-Baumann will speak on activating therapy for Parkinson’s disease: “Activating therapies such as physiotherapy, logotherapy and occupational therapy are now equivalent to Parkinson’s medication in the highest level of recommendation and evidence in Parkinson's treatment. Unfortunately, however, far too few patients have been treated with such evidence-based methods thus far.” Professor Dr Joachim Liepert, who will discuss prognostic indicators and indications for the most appropriate therapeutic procedure in his lecture on “Predictors for the recovery of arm function after stroke”, sees great advantages in the combination of a trade fair and a congress for specialists: “The combination of a practice- and product-oriented trade fair and a scientific programme addressing the current state of knowledge for diverse aspects of rehabilitation is informative and profitable for the participants. The large number of exhibitors promises an excellent overview of established and innovative products.” Sabine and Hans Lamprecht from the Lamprecht NEURO-Fobis team, who collaborated with their colleagues to develop CON.THERA’s content programme, explain: “We have succeeded in lining up a first-rate programme and we are delighted that so many well-known experts spontaneously accepted our invitation. Their presence will help to make CON.THERA a genuine highlight for therapists from all professional groups. Our cooperation with Karlsruhe Trade Fair Centre is a perfect symbiosis. We look forward to exciting days at the trade fair and to a congress that will be well worth a visit.”
