REHAB returns at last: Looking forward to the industry’s reunion in Karlsruhe

Share interdisciplinary expertise, meet colleagues, and get to know new products, innovations, ideas and approaches to solutions for one’s own needs: there are many reasons to look forward to REHAB.

  • Extensive market representation and a high proportion of manufacturers on site
  • Rehab professionals and community benefit from thematic marketplace concept
  • Product tests and personal sharing in the foreground

Share interdisciplinary expertise, meet colleagues, and get to know new products, innovations, ideas and approaches to solutions for one’s own needs: there are many reasons to look forward to REHAB. After a three-year intermission due to the coronavirus, the industry will meet again at the 21st Trade Fair for Rehabilitation, Therapy, Care and Inclusion from 23 to 25 June 2022 at Karlsruhe Trade Fair Centre. The organizers expect to welcome circa 350 exhibiting companies, institutions and service providers from approximately fifteen countries, with Germany and neighbouring European countries contributing the lion’s share. The newly launched CON.THERA therapists’ congress will take place at the same time. Jürgen Dusel, the German federal government’s Commissioner for the Interests of People with Disabilities, will be present as patron at the fair’s opening. Further information and tickets are available at www.rehab-karlsruhe.com.

“Feedback from exhibitors and visitors clearly reflects a strong desire to see one another again. Rehab professionals as well as people with disabilities and their relatives are looking forward to this opportunity to find out live about new trends and developments. Everyone is eagerly awaiting this chance to share ideas on site and in person again. Anticipation for REHAB is tremendous”, Project Manager Annika Gehrmeyer reports.

For the first time, REHAB’s extensive area will cover three exhibition halls, the Action Hall, the Atrium and the outdoor space with a spacious catering area – a total of approximately 40,000 barrier-free square metres. Due to the pandemic, fewer exhibitors are expected than in 2019, but the entire product range will nonetheless be represented. From start-ups to market leaders, the participants on site in Karlsruhe will include manufacturers, dealers, service providers and associations. Industry giants such as Humanelektronik, Meyra, Paravan, Permobil and Wellspect HealthCare will present their latest developments in rehabilitation, orthopaedic and medical technology. Product premieres as well as numerous innovations and further developments are expected. The background for this strong participation is twofold: a high proportion of manufacturers (circa 50 percent) and the fact that no trade fairs for this industry have taken place during the past two years.

Eleven thematic marketplaces bring together experts and the community depending on their specific interests. For example, the Mobility and Everyday Aids Marketplace covers the entire spectrum from wheelchairs and walking aids, through orthopaedic aids and communication aids, to transfer and lifting aids and exoskeletons. REHAB Karlsruhe is the first port of call for many trade and private visitors, especially for people who are interested in high-quality mobility aids and children’s aids manufactured in Germany and elsewhere in Europe.

Live product tests and personal sharing in the foreground

Visitors will again have opportunities to obtain information directly from manufacturers and specialized dealers, to compare products, and to find advice tailored to meet their individual needs. The ability to test the aids on site is particularly helpful: on a test course covering approximately 3,000 square metres, users can determine whether a wheelchair, a mobility device or even an automobile meets their individual needs and satisfies their personal requirements.

In addition, experts will shed light on overarching topics and trends in the assistive technology sector. These lectures, workshops and product presentations focus on topics such as child and youth rehabilitation, out-of-hospital intensive care, and legal framework conditions. Numerous self-help organisations will likewise be represented on site.

Also new: the joint stand of DATEurope (the European Industry Association for Digital Assistive Technology) and the Peer Congress of the FGQ – Fördergemeinschaft der Querschnittgelähmten e.V. (Support Association for Paraplegics). Here too, the focus will be on personalized advice and networking.

New added value for trade visitors: CON.THERA

CON.THERA, an interdisciplinary congress for therapists, provides special added value for trade visitors. Developed in close cooperation with the Lamprecht NEURO-Fobis team, CON.THERA will take place in parallel with REHAB for the first time. The programme of this interdisciplinary congress focuses on neurorehabilitation for therapists in all disciplines. The CON.THERA congress features top-class speakers and is divided into five thematic blocks. Tickets are available via the online shop.
